Privacy Policy
H&J Transports LLC — Last updated: August 15, 2026
1. Introduction
H&J Transports LLC ("H&J," "we," "us," or "our") operates an online marketplace that connects homeowners and businesses with independent, licensed contractors for home and commercial services — including heating and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and cleaning (the "Services"). The service categories we offer may change over time.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to visitors, homeowners, businesses, and contractors who use the Services. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account and identity data — name, email address, and password when you create an account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and basic profile information through Google OAuth.
- Contact and communication data — email address and, where you provide it, phone number.
- Service request data — service requests you submit, including the service category, the service location/address, a description of the work, property details where relevant, your preferred appointment times, and related details; ratings, reviews, and feedback you provide; and, for contractors, business and licensing details you submit.
- Documents — files you upload, which are stored in our secure file storage.
Information collected automatically:
- Technical and usage data — IP address, browser and device information, and general usage activity, collected through our hosting and analytics providers.
- Security and rate-limiting data — IP address and request metadata used to protect the Services from abuse.
- Error and diagnostic data — technical error reports generated when something goes wrong, used to diagnose and fix problems. We configure our error reporting to mask email addresses and phone numbers from error messages before they are sent to our monitoring provider.
We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, or payment card numbers through the Services.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- operate the Services, including routing your service request to independent, licensed contractors and enabling contact between you and them;
- send you transactional and service-related communications;
- secure the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce rate limits;
- diagnose technical problems and improve the Services; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money.
With independent contractors. We share the information reasonably necessary for an independent, licensed contractor to respond to your service request. Contractors are independent third parties, not employees or agents of H&J.
With service providers who perform functions on our behalf and may use the information only to provide those functions:
| Provider | Function |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and file storage |
| Resend (with SMTP email fallback) | Sending email notifications |
| Sign-in via Google OAuth | |
| Upstash | Rate-limiting and abuse prevention (processes IP addresses) |
| Vercel | Website hosting and usage analytics |
| Sentry | Error and performance monitoring |
For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of H&J, our users, or others.
In a business transfer. If H&J is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. How We Communicate With You
We may communicate with you directly using the contact information you provide — for example by email, and in some cases by phone or text message — about your service request, quote, or account. These messages are sent by us on a one-to-one basis; we do not currently operate an automated or bulk text-messaging service. If you would prefer not to receive a particular type of message, contact us at jatinder@handjtransportsllc.com or simply reply asking us to stop, and we will honor it.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, and to understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without them.
7. Data Retention
We retain most account and transactional information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations. Because the Services are in an early operating phase, we currently retain most records indefinitely.
Some data expires automatically: notification records are deleted after approximately 90 days, and time-limited document-access links expire after approximately 30 days.
You may request deletion of your information as described in Section 8.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Requesting access or deletion. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email us at jatinder@handjtransportsllc.com. We currently handle these requests manually. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
California residents. If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, and the sources, purposes, and categories of recipients;
- request deletion of your personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — as noted above, we do not sell your personal information for money; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email jatinder@handjtransportsllc.com. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, authentication controls, and access restrictions provided by our infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us at jatinder@handjtransportsllc.com and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by email where appropriate.
